It’s been a long, patient wait for Thiago Silva.
After leading Brazil to the 2014 World Cup as captain, the Paris Saint-Germain defender lost the armband when Dunga was appointed to replace Luiz Felipe Scolari, and then lost his place in the side completely.
The 32-year-old returns to the starting line-up on Friday for what will be his first start for his country in two years, when the Selecao host Argentina on the Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Friday’s training session at the MCG saw Tite confirm his starting XI, with his side set to line-up as follows:
